Shirley Louise McGregor, 80 of Altoona died Tuesday evening May 31, 2016 at UPMC Altoona. 
          She was born December 20, 1935 in Spring Run, PA a daughter of the late Lawrence K. and Elizabeth H. (Caldwell) Fogal. She married Clair S. McGregor on February 28, 1953 in Winchester, VA. 
          Surviving are her loving husband, Clair of 63 years; three daughters, Tonda Carruthers and husband John, Tina McGregor, and Tami Buchanan and husband Jim; five grandchildren, Jason Carruthers and wife Kristie, Brett Carruthers and wife Heather, Trey Carruthers and wife Sarah, Alissa Myers and husband Ed, Christopher Buchanan and wife Justine; and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving are three siblings, Donald Fogal, Peggy Gailey, and Patty Whitman. 
           She was preceded in death by her grandson Ryan S. Carruthers on March 12, 2014. Also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
           Shirley was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Altoona. 
           She was a 1953 graduate of Altoona High School and enjoyed being a member of her reunion committee
           Shirley was a sales clerk at Gable's  Department Store for 17 years. 
           She enjoyed sewing, crafting and cooking.  She was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She took great pride in her home and family. Shirley especially enjoyed family gatherings, events and activities.               

          Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday June 3, 2016 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona. A Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 4, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 408 N. 6th Street, Altoona.  Internment will be made at Blair Memorial Park.
